Hauskey stands out as a skilled vocalist, composer, and player of multiple instruments whose understated indie pop blends his affinity for jazz, R&B, and the soft-rock sounds of the 1970s. His first release arrived in 2020 via the Slow EP, which was succeeded later by three thematically linked EPs issued together in 2022.

Originally named Andy Hopkins, he spent his childhood in Perth, Australia, where an early encounter with a John Coltrane record from his mother’s collection sparked his interest in music. He soon began composing original material, drawing initial influence from a range of performers that included John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, and additional artists. Following secondary school he completed a music program at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, after which he entered the teaching profession and established a music school with several locations. Performing and songwriting continued to be his central focus, prompting a move to London in search of broader opportunities. When those efforts fell short he returned to Australia and settled into a remote farmhouse to concentrate on his craft. That decision yielded results, leading to the 2020 appearance of his debut EP, Slow, through Republic Records. The same year also saw the release of three interconnected EPs—Emilee: Act I, Heartache & LSD Act: II, and Help!: Act III—in 2022.
