Hecate Enthroned

The British death metal band Hecate Enthroned traces its beginnings to the middle of 1993, when vocalist Jon joined guitarists Marc and Nigel to form Daemonium. Following a year of live performances, Jon departed to become part of Cradle of Filth, prompting the others to continue by bringing in several replacement players. Now operating under the name Hecate Enthroned, the lineup invited Jon to return in spring 1995, after which they recorded the demo An Ode for a Haunted Wood; this material was later reworked and released in 1996 as the commercial album Promeathean Shores, Unscriptured Waters. With the arrival of keyboardist Michael, bassist Paul and drummer Craig, the band's musical identity took firm shape, leading to the 1997 release The Slaughter of Innocence and, two years afterward, Dark Requiems. Early in 2000 the group delivered its fourth album, Kings of Chaos.
