Biography
Born on November 11, 1980, in Valasske Mezirici, Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia), pop singer Helena Zetová entered the music industry during the late '90s by performing with several rock bands based in Western Europe, including one from the United States. Upon returning to the Czech Republic for work on the television program Do-Re-Mi, she chose to establish her career there. In 2000 she teamed up with Tereza Cernochová and Tereza Kerndlova to create the girl group Black Milk. The trio issued its first album in 2002, which achieved strong sales, yet mounting disagreements led to their dissolution by 2005. That same year Zetová launched her solo path, releasing the album Ready to Roll in October and quickly attracting buyers while drawing large crowds to her shows. She contributed guest vocals to No Name during their 2006 tour. Her follow-up album, Crossing Bridges, proved equally successful, reaching number five on the Czech album charts in 2008. Helena Zetová died on December 20, 2024, at the age of 44.
