Biography
Hibria emerged as a traditional power metal band from Porto Alegre, Brazil’s southernmost major city, remaining largely unnoticed there from 1996 onward when only the occasional demo tape attested to their activity. By the time the quintet unveiled their debut album Defying the Rules in 2004, vocalist Iuri Sanson, guitarists Diego Kasper and Abel Camargo, bassist Marco Panichi, and drummer Sávio Sordi had sharpened their skills to an exceptional edge, earning the record recognition as one of that year’s most widely acclaimed power metal debuts.
