Jarle Skavhellen

A Norwegian artist known for his singer/songwriter talents, Jarle Skavhellen crafts music as a rootsy performer by blending classic acoustic folk elements with yearning melodies of his creation and atmospheric production techniques. Born and raised within a musical household in Bergen, Norway, Skavhellen took up the guitar near the age of 11 under the tutelage of the acclaimed Norwegian guitarist Mads Eriksen. He found himself drawn to the folk and country classics by figures such as Chet Atkins and Dave Van Ronk while exploring his father's large collection of vinyl records. Access to numerous guitars belonging to his uncle further enabled Skavhellen to hone his abilities as a skilled musician with notable speed. In his teenage years, participation in multiple groups encompassing rock outfits and cover bands preceded his shift toward crafting personal folk songs. Attention came his way upon issuing the evocative single "The Ghost in Your Smile" during 2016. He followed up with the single "Matylda" the subsequent year.
