Jevon

Jevon works as both rapper and producer from his Coventry base, pulling in sounds that span grime, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and reggae.

He entered the world in West London in 1991 and initially chased a career in football until a knee injury ended those plans without warning. During a school suspension he began testing his own talent by laying original lyrics over Nas instrumentals, which prompted a lasting shift toward music. At fifteen his family left London and settled in Coventry. Early encounters with first-wave grime figures such as Kano and Dizee Rascal stirred his interest in the genre, but further exploration of production convinced him to abandon grime’s narrower rules in favor of his full range of influences. His earliest prominent production credit arrived on Bonkaz’ 2016 mixtape Fuck Fame. Wider recognition followed in 2017 through a feature on Nines’ album One Foot Out and a role as one of three producers on XL’s New Gen project. Reluctant to rush his own recordings, he waited until 2019 to release his debut EP, Spirits & Chaos.
