Jhariah, born Jhariah Jahai Clare in the Bronx, works as a musician, illustrator, and animator whose dramatic, wide-ranging style draws on pop-punk, hardcore, hip-hop, video game music, alternative rock, emo-pop, and reggaetón. This Gen-Z polymath, shaped early by Panic! At the Disco, Queen, My Chemical Romance, and Tech N9ne, launched a personal sonic world in 2017 and delivered the concept LP The Great Tale of How I Ruined It All (2018) plus the EP To Mend the Sun (2020) before turning twenty. The 2021 EP A Beginner's Guide to Faking Your Own Death broadened that vision, extending the apocalyptic storyline begun on the debut record and spotlighting the viral single "Flight of the Crows." After establishing a reputation as a fluid dark-pop innovator alongside figures such as Poppy, 100 Gecs, and Billie Eilish, Jhariah spent several years shaping a second album. Trust Ceremony, issued in 2024, found the artist examining earlier chapters while mapping what lay ahead across a poised, electronics-forward collection that yielded the streaming standouts "Risk! Risk! Risk," "Pin-Eye," and "Eat Your Friends," the last of which paired Jhariah with Baltimore emo-punk trio Pinkshift.
