A versatile metalcore outfit originating from Ukraine, Jinjer achieved recognition both within their Eastern European base and on international stages through a punishing fusion of post-hardcore with death, progressive, and nu-metal elements. The quartet, formed in 2009, drew on an expansive range of sources that encompassed R&B, soul, hip-hop, and every facet of heavy metal, and featured vocalist Tatiana Shmailyuk, guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov, bassist Eugene Abdiukhanov, and drummer Vladislav Ulasevich. Following the independent EPs OIMACTTA in 2009 and Inhale, Do Not Breathe in 2012, the band secured domestic breakthrough by issuing a complete album version of the latter title in 2013. Their second full-length release, Cloud Factory, appeared in 2014 and prompted heavy metal powerhouse Napalm to offer a contract, resulting in the 2016 delivery of the group’s third studio album, King of Everything. Extensive road work followed, encompassing major European festivals and initial forays into overseas markets. The Micro EP surfaced on Napalm in early 2019; later that same year its complementary counterpart, the reggae- and progressive-rock-infused Macro, emerged. Two years afterward, Jinjer delivered Wallflowers, their most intense collection to date.
