Biography
John Oszajca, who entered the world in Hawaii, spent time playing in multiple groups around Seattle before moving south to Los Angeles. There he began appearing at open-mike nights even as he earned his living promoting concerts. A deal with Interscope followed, and his first album, From There to Here, reached stores in spring 2000. Reviewers often compared the record to Beck’s work, yet Oszajca also drew notice for his brief engagement to Lisa Marie Presley. Singles such as “Bisexual Chick” and “Back in 1999” stirred interest, but he stayed largely out of the national spotlight until 2005, when he resurfaced on the Warner Bros./Record Collection roster with the album First Sign of Anything.
