Audiovent

Audiovent emerged as a quartet specializing in alternative rock and based in Calabasas, CA. Its lineup consisted of vocalist Jason Boyd, guitarist Benjamin Einziger, bassist Paul Fried, and drummer Jamin Wilcox, who had first assembled under the name Vent in the early '90s after drawing inspiration from the rising mainstream alternative rock movement. The group issued a lone independent album in 1999, then turned to group therapy as a means of managing the pressures of mounting success. Intent on preserving their friendships, the members honed stronger communication skills and applied those lessons once Atlantic Records approached them for a deal. They adopted the name Audiovent at that point and entered the studio in 2001 to lay down Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris, marking their first official release under the revised moniker.
