Born around 1974, this rapper surfaced among a fresh wave of Staten Island, New York, USA artists tied to the Shaolin moniker. His adoption of the martial-arts ethos linked to that name prompted comparisons with neighboring crew Wu-Tang Clan. The 1994 12-inch “Warrior’s Drum” marked his debut and registered as a major underground success, backed by his crew/gang Blackfist—the same name he gave the label he ran through Select—though the competent hardcore track ultimately registered as somewhat derivative in its surroundings.
