Biography
Rapper Kia Philips, known as K.P., joined forces with vocalist Susan Hedgepeth, billed as Envyi, to form the duo K.P. & Envyi and deliver their 1997 single "Swing My Way." Issued on EastWest and helmed by producer Michael "Mixzo" Johnson, the track stood as a quintessential late-'90s Southern-style crossover effort that climbed to number five on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart while also landing inside the Top Ten on both the club and Hot 100 tallies. The pair briefly reunited in 2005 to record "Put Cha Hands Up" for Jermaine Dupri's Young, Fly & Flashy, Vol. 1 compilation. Hedgepeth subsequently adopted the stage name Sioux Lane and appeared as a contestant on BET's gospel-singing talent series Sunday Best.
