Lacee

Emerging from the deep Southern soul lineage tracing to Muscle Shoals and Memphis, Lacee delivers contemporary vocals rooted in those traditions. Memphis serves as the hometown of Lacy Yvonne Reed, where her earliest performances took place in church alongside her mother, JoAnn Reed. Turning music into a full profession, she issued her first album, Songstress, through Loveland Records in 2006. The project created immediate resonance, securing her the International Female Vocalist of the Year Award at the Jackson Music Awards in Jackson, Mississippi. Steady work followed, with ongoing performances and new albums appearing every two or three years. She joined Advantage in 2009 and put out Lacee's Groove, an album that widened her following. Soulful arrived in 2011, the seasonal Christmas with Lacee came in 2012, and Beautiful appeared in 2014.
