Biography
Formed in 2010 in East London, the British indie pop and jangle rock outfit Life in Film consists of vocalist and guitarist Samuel Fry along with Edward Ibbotson on guitar, Dominic Sennett handling bass duties, and Micky Osment on drums. Their early breakthrough arrived that same year after iconic British fashion house Burberry chose the track "Alleyway" to launch its Burberry Acoustic Initiative compilation, resulting in a slot at Vogue's Fashion Night Out during September 2010. Following the independent release of their first single "The Idiot" in 2011, the group secured a deal with Sony by the following year, which put out their introductory EP Pins and Needles. Producer Stephen Street, known for his work with the Smiths and Blur, was enlisted for their planned debut album intended for 2013. A move to the European imprint Embassy of Music in 2014 paved the way for another EP and ultimately the arrival of their first full-length record, Get Closer, in March 2015.
