Lil Halima, a Norwegian artist, fuses pop, smooth soul, and electronica into understated, off-kilter R&B. Following her Universal deal, she surfaced in 2018 via the singles “Abstract” and “Train.”
Born Lillian Halima Anderssen and raised in Bardu, a modest town in Norway’s northern Troms region, she started singing early and later took up violin, yet only entertained thoughts of music as a career upon finishing high school. She relocated to Oslo in 2017, where she quickly formed industry ties. A handful of social-media clips prompted her signing to Def Jam Recordings Norway, Universal’s local affiliate; at nineteen she issued her first single, “Abstract,” in April 2018. “Train” appeared that June and paved the way for slots at Norwegian summer festivals alongside headliners such as Tyler, the Creator and YG. The track “Who Do U Love” surfaced in 2019.
