Link secured a deal with Relativity Records on the strength of penning the Top Five smash "My Body" for LSG, the R&B supergroup assembled by Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat, and Johnny Gill. Born Lincoln Browder in Dallas, he sang in gospel choirs and started an a cappella ensemble as a teenager. R&B impresario Darrell "Delite" Allamby later brought him into the quartet Protégé; after the group dissolved, Link continued his partnership with Allamby. Together they crafted multiple tracks alongside collaborator Antoinette Roberson, among them "My Body," which LSG immediately chose as its lead single. The song turned into a major success, paving the way for Link’s own 1998 debut album, Sex Down. He went on to contribute material for Silk and Kut Klose as well as the solo projects of Levert and Gill.
