Russ Liquid

Russ Liquid serves as the stage identity for Russell Scott, the New Orleans trumpeter, keyboardist, producer, and beatmaker. Long experienced through earlier work with the Uprite Dub Orchestra and the MarchFourth Marching Band, Scott later turned toward electronic production under the Russ Liquid moniker. His first release arrived in 2011 as the album Purple, issued under the Russ Liquid Sound billing, and was succeeded in 2013 by the Foreign Frequency LP. In his role as producer and collaborator he contributed to numerous unrelated projects, during one tour encountering Florida-based guitarist Andrew Block. Scott, Block, and drummer Deven Trusclair subsequently launched the trio Russ Liquid Test, which merges New Orleans jazz and funk textures with contemporary electronic production. The ensemble joined Detroit’s All Good Records and issued its opening EP, 1984, in 2016.
