Hailing from Los Angeles, the Glitch Mob have captivated global dancefloors through their primarily midtempo approach to cinematic electronic music laden with heavy bass. As a highly successful live act, their recordings have also gained significant visibility via placements in commercials and film previews. The group launched their first full-length effort with 2010's Drink the Sea, then reached number 13 on the Billboard 200 while leading the Dance/Electronic Albums chart via 2014's Love Death Immortality. Their third album See Without Eyes arrived in 2018, followed by the remix and mashup overview Revisions in 2021.

The Glitch Mob originated in 2006. After realizing loose connections through nightly appearances at overlapping venues, the members initiated their collaboration by performing as a DJ "tag team." Initially comprising edIT, Boreta, Kraddy, and Ooah and equipped with laptops and MIDI controllers, the collective aligned with the emerging late-2000s Los Angeles IDM and hip-hop beat movement alongside Daedelus, Flying Lotus, and Samiyam. They forged a futuristic dance aesthetic via noisy, bass-driven electro that echoed the more intense aspects of Aphex Twin and Autechre alongside heavier European breakbeat traditions. After building notice for their sets in Los Angeles and San Francisco and drawing on experience within the storied West Coast underground electro community, the group began remixing work in 2008, including tracks by Evil Nine and TV on the Radio. Founding member Kraddy departed in 2009 due to creative differences.

The remaining trio issued their debut album Drink the Sea on their own Glass Air Records in 2010. Two remix collections and the EP We Can Make the World Stop followed in 2011. An unofficial treatment of the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" later appeared in movie and video game trailers; Third Man Records released it as a 7" single a decade afterward. Love Death Immortality arrived in 2014 featuring guest vocalists Metal Mother, Nico Vega's Aja Volkman, and Sister Crayon's Terra Lopez. The release achieved major success, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard 200. Their supporting tour that year incorporated a custom stage element called "the Blade," constructed by film set designers to merge musical and visual components into a single synchronized system operated simultaneously by all members. They issued the three-track EP Piece of the Indestructible in 2015 and contributed occasional remixes for Illenium and ODESZA.

See Without Eyes, the Glitch Mob's third studio album, appeared in 2018 with contributions from Tula, Elohim, and Rituals of Mine. The group also joined Mako and the Word Alive for the track "Rise" created for League of Legends. Additional singles emerged in 2019 with LICK, ZEKE BEATS, and 1788-L, while the EP Chemicals arrived in 2020. To mark the tenth anniversary of their debut, they released a deluxe edition and an ambient reinterpretation of Drink the Sea that same year. Revisions, a continuous 90-minute mix spanning the band's catalog, surfaced in 2021.
