Opiuo serves as the stage identity for Oscar Davey-Wraight, an electronic producer and DJ born in New Zealand and now residing in Australia. His signature sound blends vibrant elements of bass, glitch, and funk, a style he began shaping shortly after completing his studies with financial support from a parental loan that covered his first recording sessions. The 2009 EP Physical Symptoms marked his initial release and quickly brought international notice through the San Francisco imprint Addictech, leading to steady live dates and a quick succession of singles capped by the 2010 full-length Slurp and Giggle. Over the following years, performances that started as solo DJ sets of his own tracks expanded into a complete live band configuration while he kept issuing new work, among them the Butternut Slap EP series and the 2013 album Meraki LP, both of which trace his ongoing growth within electronic dance music. From his Melbourne base he has delivered remixes for acts such as Infected Mushroom and Kaya Project, and he reemerged in 2016 with Omniversal, his third studio album.
