Biography
Brian Leeds, an American techno producer and DJ known also as Huerco S. and Pendant, records under the Loidis alias among others. Concentrating on swirling ambient, minimal, and dub techno, he launched the Loidis name via a 2018 EP before following it that same year with the full-length One Day.
Leeds earned prominence in the early 2010s as one of outsider house’s leading figures through his Huerco S. work. His opening EPs and the 2013 debut album Colonial Patterns featured grainy, lo-fi dance tracks, after which he shifted from beat-driven material toward the detached yet rhythmic ambient loops of 2016’s For Those of You Who Have Never (And Also Those Who Have). In 2018 he issued the first Pendant album Make Me Know You Sweet while returning to rhythm-oriented pieces with the Loidis EP A Parade, In the Place I Sit, The Floating World (& All Its Pleasures) on anno. Additional albums appeared under both Pendant and Huerco S. before he revisited Loidis for the 2024 double-LP One Day on Incienso. Resident Advisor named the lush, shimmering set record of the year.
