Los Angeles Negros

In 1968 Germaín de la Fuente joined Mario Gutiérrez, Cristian Blasser, Federico Blasser, and Sergio Rojas to launch los Ángeles Negros, whose first single, "¿Por Qué Te Quiero?," appeared after the group prevailed in a competition staged by a Chilean broadcaster. Throughout the 1970s the ensemble’s romantic ballads “Y Volveré,” “Pasión y Vida,” and “Mi Niña” climbed to the summit of charts across Latin America. Los Ángeles Negros relocated to Mexico in 1982. Once the original vocalist departed to launch a solo career, Germaín y sus Ángeles Negros took shape.
