Biography
Having performed under another name for close to twenty years, the tropical ensemble devoted primarily to Cumbia first reached international audiences in 1997 via the album Lo Bueno Lo Traigo Yo, at which time the group took the name Los Yaguaru, drawn from a Paraguayan aboriginal term denoting otter. Their breakthrough occurred during a live appearance in Pueblo as part of one of the largest parties ever staged, which included more than 100 Latin bands. Lideres issued the compilation Lo Mejor de los Yaguaru, Vol. 1 in 2002, gathering the band's greatest hits.
