Biography
Operating out of Minneapolis, Love-Cars compose lyrically enriched emo-style pop/rock songs through collective effort instead of individual contributions. The indie rock quartet came together in 1997 with frontman James Diers, guitarist Matthew Foust, bassist Alex Gaddis, and drummer David King rounding out the lineup. Among the members, Diers—a rock writer and editor—draws the greatest notice, largely owing to his gripping vocals. The group first appeared on record with Chump Lessions in 1998, which was succeeded by I'm Friends With All Stars in 2000. No Alternative put out those two albums, yet Love-Cars chose to self-release their 2002 effort Thank You for Telling Me What I Already Know.
