Love in Reverse, the neo-art-rockers, originated in Whiting, New Jersey, toward the end of the 1980s. At first operating under the name Dog, the outfit began as a domestic recording effort between singer/guitarist Michael Ferentino and bassist/keyboardist Andres Karu. Persistent early setbacks arrived in the form of repeated demo-tape rejections, yet the pair sustained remarkable productivity by laying down roughly thirty albums of new songs before securing a Reprise contract that yielded the 1996 EP I Was a Dog; the full-length I Was Here followed that same year, and Love in Reverse returned in 1998 with Words Become Worms.
