Biography
Emerging onto the scene during 1994, the Electric Hellfire Club unveiled its eclectic, satanic, psychedelic sound via the debut album Burn Baby Burn, the EP Satan's Little Helper, and tracks scattered across compilations such as Mysterious Encounters and Industrial Revolution, Vol. 2. Kiss the Goat followed in 1995 while the band logged extensive road time supporting Type O Negative, the Genitorturers, and Cleopatra Records labelmates Spahn Ranch. Keyboardist Shane Lassen, billed as the Rev. Dr. Luv, perished in a car crash at the start of 1996, prompting the surviving members to press on and dedicate that year's Calling Dr. Luv to his memory. Additional touring and personnel adjustments preceded the 1998 release of Unholy Roller, which in turn gave way to Empathy for the Devil the next year; Witness the Millennium appeared a year later.
