Lucas & Steve, a Dutch EDM duo, first gained recognition through their progressive house output, notably via the 2016 collaboration with Sam Feldt and Wulf titled "Summer on You" as well as their own 2017 club smash "Up 'til Dawn (On the Move)."
Before teaming up as Lucas & Steve in 2010, Lucas de Wert and Steven Jansen had each already logged several seasons of club DJ work. From 2011 onward they issued a series of digital progressive house and tech-house cuts on imprints including Housepital Records and WL77. A 2013 appearance on HotFingers paved the way for their 2014 signing to Spinnin' Deep, an alliance that sharply expanded their visibility. Around this period they adopted the "future house" template, threading lush guitar lines through brisk, festival-oriented arrangements.
Their remix credits soon encompassed Kraak & Smaak, Sick Individuals, and Felix Jaehn. In 2015 the pair joined forces with Laurent Wolf for "Calinda 2K15," which registered on the Belgian singles chart. Further 2016 releases included "Enigma" with Pep & Rash and the aforementioned "Summer on You" with Sam Feldt and Wulf, the latter track peaking at number 12 in the Netherlands. Maintaining a brisk release schedule, Lucas & Steve notched additional successes over the following two years, among them the 2017 single "Up 'til Dawn (On the Move)" and the 2018 Brandy collaboration "I Could Be Wrong." Their first full-length project, Letters to Remember, arrived in 2020 and showcased guest appearances from Kiesza, Clara Mae, Alida, and additional vocalists.
