Turkish-Dutch EDM producer and DJ Ummet Ozcan launched his career at age 14. Already capable on multiple instruments such as flute and keyboards, he turned to dance-music production shaped by tech-trance aesthetics and issued his debut single, “Chica Good,” in 2006. Subsequent digital releases appeared on his own Beatproviders label, and from 2007 onward a steady flow of tracks emerged on Liquid, Doorn, and Spinnin’s Reset Records imprint, steadily raising his profile as a skilled trance DJ and producer.
The 2011 release “Reboot” remained atop the Beatport chart for several weeks, marking him as a distinctive presence in EDM. His sound gradually shifted toward big-room progressive house, a direction confirmed in 2012 by the collaboration “Dae Yor” with Paul van Dyk, featured on the German artist’s album Evolution. That same year “The Box” returned him to the Beatport summit. In 2013 the R3hab and Nervo collaboration “Revolution” placed him alongside peers such as Sander van Doorn, Armin Van Buuren, and Tiësto, opening doors to further ventures including softsynth development and soundbank design.
The following year brought additional successes—“Raise Your Hands,” “Smash!,” and “Superwave”—along with a second van Dyk joint venture, “Come with Me (We Are One),” and the Calvin Harris collaboration “Overdrive.” Ozcan achieved his greatest commercial breakthrough with “The Hum,” the 2015 Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike single that reached number one in Belgium. Further solo releases followed, capped in 2016 by the Tiësto collaboration “What You’re Waiting For.”
