Biography
Singer and model Mallory Merk possesses a gentle, unhurried vocal tone whose sonic palette fuses her affinity for introspective, guitar-driven indie rock with grounded alternative R&B. Her first EP, Strangers, appeared in 2020, with the follow-up Thorns arriving two years afterward.
Louisiana-born Merk was raised in New Jersey, where her brother and uncle exposed her to Nirvana and Alice in Chains. She took up guitar and piano, composing her earliest song at age twelve. During the same period she pursued competitive fencing and, in her teens, entered modeling, appearing in campaigns for Gucci, Yeezy, and Fenty Beauty. Throughout these years she kept writing material that confronted trauma, drug abuse, and mental health alongside themes of romance and relationships. After relocating to Los Angeles in early 2020, Merk entered a drug rehabilitation program. Upon resuming her work she issued Strangers in October of that year. Mid-2021 brought the independent singles “Evol” and “Sinister” plus her rendition of Jet’s “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” while the EP Thorns surfaced in 2022.
