Talented composer Armando Manzanero bestowed the title "La Mujer Que Nació Para Cantar" (the Woman Who Was Born to Sing) on Manoella Torres, who first received radio exposure in the 1970s via the romantic and sensual number "Acariciame." Drawn to the Latin-style bolero, the New York-born artist of Puerto Rican descent found widespread popularity in Mexico and sustained a thriving career for more than three decades. Sonia Rivas followed her tribute to Javier Solis titled De La Tierra...Al Cielo with a greatest-hits collection called Te Amo (I Love You).
