The Argentinean singer/songwriter Marcela Morelo often joined her grandfather, an accordionist, for performances in her youth. Classical guitar soon followed, along with her first original composition at age 18. After fronting outfits such as Pomelo Galante and Gris, cutting jingles, and playing Buenos Aires clubs, she secured a contract with BMG in 1996. There she cut her debut album Manantial under producer Rodolfo Lugo; the set yielded the hit singles “Corazón Salvaje” and “La Fuerza Del Engaño.” Merging pop, tropical, and Argentinean folk styles, the gifted artist resurfaced in 1999 with Eclipse.
