South Africa's Master KG crafts exuberant, voice-driven productions that fuse house rhythms with gqom energy and Afro-pop sensibilities. Global recognition arrived after his spiritually themed single "Jerusalema," the title cut from his second album, turned into a worldwide phenomenon in 2020, sparking countless dance-challenge clips and spawning remixes such as the widely circulated version with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy. KG next joined forces with David Guetta and Akon for the 2021 single "Shine Your Light."

Born Kgaogelo Moagi in South Africa's Limpopo province in 1996, he started crafting beats on a home computer at age thirteen and issued his debut single under the Master KG name, "Situation," in 2016. After inking a deal with Open Mic Productions, he notched his breakthrough with the 2018 release "Skeleton Move," featuring Zanda Zakuza, which paved the way for an album of the same title. KG collected multiple honors, among them Song of the Year from the South African Broadcasting Corporation and Best Dance Song at the Limpopo Music Awards. He cut tracks with Makhadzi, then his girlfriend, as well as other artists including Rethabile Khumalo and Prince Benza.

The gospel-tinged "Jerusalema," voiced by Nomcebo Zikode, surfaced in late 2019, followed by the full-length Jerusalema on Warner France/Elektra France in early 2020. The track slowly gained international traction before surging in mid-year once a dance challenge took hold. It reached high chart positions across dozens of territories, its reach expanding further with the Burna Boy remix and an additional version featuring Venezuela's Micro TDH alongside Colombia's Greeicy. "Jerusalema" earned International Song of the Year at the NRJ Music Awards. In 2021, KG unveiled "Shine Your Light," a joint effort with French DJ/producer David Guetta and Senegalese-American rapper/singer Akon.
