Biography
Matt Morris, an American singer and songwriter, launched his professional journey in 1991 by joining the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club for seasons four through seven. The offspring of award-winning country singer Gary Morris, this multi-instrumentalist began writing original material while still in his teens and later reconnected with fellow Mousketeers Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera, all of whom landed hits on tracks he wrote or co-wrote. Morris and Aguilera also supplied American Idol Kelly Clarkson with her 2003 hit “Miss Independent.” That same year brought his debut album, Unspoken, which was followed in 2008 by the five-song EP Backstage at Bonnaroo and Other Acoustic Performances. In 2010 Morris released his first full-length, When Everything Breaks Open, on Timberlake’s Interscope imprint, Tennman Records.
