MellowHype

Emerging from Odd Future’s peculiar and subterranean world, MellowHype took shape as a splinter unit built around Hodgy Beats and Left Brain. The pair stepped forward in 2010 with the independently issued YelloWhite, whose beats came from Left Brain and fellow Odd Future member Tyler, the Creator. Both that project and its successor BlackenedWhite, which surfaced later the same year, were offered as free downloads on the Odd Future site. Fat Possum issued an official re-edition of BlackenedWhite in 2011 that added four fresh tracks. The following year the duo delivered their third album, Numbers, through the Odd Future label, presenting a darker and more mature collection.
