Memento Mori

Following the issuance of Memento Mori’s opening pair of LPs, Rhymes of Lunacy and Life Death and Other Morbid Tales, vocalist Messiah Marcolin and drummer Snowy Shaw withdrew from the power doom metal group. Songwriter and guitarist Mike Wead was therefore left to rebuild the band entirely. Issued in 1996, the third Memento Mori album, La Danse Macabre, served as the first release to showcase Wead’s reconstituted lineup of vocalist Kristian Andren, guitarist Nikkey Argento, bassist Marty Marteen, keyboardist Miguel Robaina, and drummer Billy St. John. Apocalypse 4 appeared two years afterward.
