Militarie Gun

Militarie Gun, based in Los Angeles, craft confessional melodic hardcore laced with restless noise-pop and punk accents. Early attention arrived via multiple EPs, paving the way for their well-regarded first album Life Under the Gun in 2023. The 2024 follow-up EP Life Under the Sun incorporated several guest appearances.

Vocalist Ian Shelton formed the band after his earlier group Regional Justice Center disbanded. Their opening release My Life Is Over surfaced in 2020. The lineup expanded to five members with the arrival of guitarists Nick Cogan and William Acuña, drummer Vince Nguyen, and bassist Max Epstein, after which the two-part EP All Roads Lead to the Gun emerged in 2021. Opening slots for Touché Amoré and Fiddlehead helped secure interest from Loma Vista. A consolidated full-length edition of All Roads Lead to the Gun, merging both prior parts with four fresh songs that included contributions from MSPAINT and Woolworm, appeared in 2022. Life Under the Gun, the debut album, followed in 2023 and earned placement on numerous year-end lists. Life Under the Sun, issued in 2024, offered reworked album material alongside guests Bully, Mannequin Pussy, and Manchester Orchestra.
