Milly Quezada

Born as Milagros Quezada Borbon in the Dominican Republic, Milly Quezada later received the title Merengue Queen upon finishing a communications degree at New York's City College. She launched her initial ensemble, Milly Con Los Vecinos, in 1975. After her sister Jocelyn Quezada entered the group, the act adopted the name Milly, Jocelyn y Los Vecinos and delivered En Tus Manos in 1995. Two years afterward Milly Quezada stepped out as a solo performer with Hasta Siempre, a recording honoring the memory of her late husband and manager Rafael Vasquez. The 1998 album Vive received a Billboard award for Best Female Tropical Album. Sony Discos issued her 2000 anthology of popular Bachatas, Tesoros de mi Tierra.
