Biography
Mitchel Musso launched his professional life in front of the camera as Oliver "Smoken" Oken on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, later expanding into music with a 2009 release. Long before adolescence, the Texas native booked print campaigns and television spots for McDonald’s and Sony Playstation. At eleven he joined the cast of Secondhand Lions opposite Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, portraying the cousin of Haley Joel Osment and thereby the nephew of the two veteran actors. Subsequent prime-time film roles, episodic television appearances, and a prominent voice performance in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated Monster House followed in quick succession. His ongoing Disney affiliation also opened doors to vocal contributions on multiple soundtrack projects. In 2009 the frequent teen-magazine subject issued his self-titled debut album through Walt Disney Records; the twelve-track set blended the stylistic spirit of Hanson with that of the Jonas Brothers. The follow-up full-length effort, Brainstorm, arrived the next year.
