Nick Fradiani

A native of Connecticut, Nicholas James Fradiani IV rose to prominence after securing victory in the fourteenth season of American Idol. Growing up in a household centered on music, he received a drum kit from his musician father while still a toddler. By the time he auditioned for the program in New York, Fradiani already carried prior industry experience. As lead singer and guitarist whose voice aligned with adult alternative tastes, he fronted the Milford, Connecticut ensemble Beach Avenue, whose members included his father, Nick Fradiani III, on keyboards, Nick Abraham on lead guitar, Jonah Ferrigno on bass, and Ryan Zipp on drums. Before Fradiani’s televised win, the band issued two EPs: Something to Believe In in 2012 and Driving That Road in 2013. National talent-show exposure was not new to him; alongside Abraham and Zipp, he appeared early in the ninth season of America’s Got Talent in 2014 before elimination. The original song they performed, “Coming Your Way,” entered the digital charts on the strength of that broadcast. After his May 2015 American Idol victory, the winner’s single “Beautiful Life” appeared, and Fradiani headlined the summer tour across the United States while starting work on his debut album. Dot Records released Hurricane in August 2016.
