Biography
One Less Reason came together in Jackson, TN, in 1998, initially operating under the name Lappdog. During those early years vocalist Cris Brown and drummer Jerome Hubble cycled through multiple configurations before locking in a fixed lineup that added drummer Kevin Scott and guitarist Jeremy Jones. In 2002 the band retired the Lappdog name and simultaneously reshaped its sound, folding the hard-rock tracks already in their catalog together with newer, more melodic songs.
A deal with Universal Records arrived in 2003 but ended quickly, returning One Less Reason to independent status after the 2004 release of the single “Favorite Color.” The group kept issuing its own recordings, among them the albums Everydaylife, Getting Back Your Self-Esteem, Lifetime Burning, and Faces and Four Letter Words, all put out on its self-owned label.
