New Hampshire-based post-hardcore outfit Our Last Night came together in 2004 when brothers Trevor on vocals and Matt Wentworth on guitar and vocals joined forces with longtime friends Alex Woodrow on bass, Colin Perry on guitar, and Tim Molloy on drums. Blending emo’s tuneful frameworks with hardcore’s raw intensity, the group spent the next three years playing scattered shows across New England while issuing a series of EPs and homemade demos. Those early recordings reached Epitaph Records, where founder Brett Gurewitz was drawn to the ensemble’s vocal range and developed songwriting. The label inked a deal with them during summer 2007, prompting the musicians to travel to Orange County, California, to lay down their first full-length. Finished before year’s end, The Ghosts Among Us appeared in early 2008, with We Will All Evolve following in 2010. On their third album, Age of Ignorance, released in 2012, the band streamlined its approach into a predominantly melodic post-hardcore sound that largely set aside earlier metal leanings. Guitarist Colin Perry departed the same year, after which the remaining members continued reshaping their style through an EP of cover material and both acoustic and electric editions of their 2013 release Oak Islands. Younger Dreams, their fourth studio album, surfaced in summer 2015. After the 2016 single “Common Ground,” they delivered the seven-track Selective Hearing EP in 2017. In 2019 the band returned with Let Light Overcome, which included the single “Demons.”
