Pallers

Swedish duo Pallers deliver euphoric indie-electro textures that mask an undercurrent of introspective, downcast songwriting. The project unites longtime companions Johan Angergård, already established through his work with the indie-pop outfits Club 8, the Legends, and Acid House Kings, and Henrik Mårtensson; both musicians spent their formative years in Åhus, the district that lent the group its name. Although they shared classrooms and overlapping social orbits, the pair’s creative partnership only surfaced in 2008, prompting a trip to Spain to lay down the Humdrum EP. Issued late that same year, the release earned acclaim for its lush, layered instrumentation and fragile vocal delivery. Pallers once more drew on distant locales to shape their first album, spending three years tracking in Miami and Cape Town along with various sites across Spain and Sweden. The sessions yielded The Sea of Memories, issued by Labrador during autumn 2011.
