Emerging from the enormously successful online multiplayer title League of Legends, the in-game heavy metal act Pentakill straddles the extravagant, imagination-fueled power metal territory of Dragonforce and the tongue-in-cheek yet meticulously assembled internal metal sound of Dethklok. Marketed as Valoran's foremost rock ensemble inside that fictional realm, the five-piece lineup places the demonic Karthus at the front, with Olaf supplying drums, Yorick on bass, Sona handling keyboards, and Mordekaiser on guitar. The Riot label unveiled the group's debut excursion beyond the game environment in 2014 via the eight-track set of punishing material titled Smite and Ignite, assembled with the aid of session players that included vocalists Jorn Lande of Masterplan and ZP Theart of Dragonforce.
