Biography
Seattle musician and songwriter Scott Reitherman runs Pillar Point as his lone synth pop outlet. After founding and heading the indie pop group Throw Me the Statue, he issued Moonbeams in 2007 and Creaturesque in 2009 plus the Purpleface EP that same year, then stated in 2013 that his energies would turn to Pillar Point. Polyvinyl signed the act on the strength of its wistful yet danceable new wave style and issued the self-titled debut LP in 2014. Of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes produced the 2016 follow-up Marble Mouth, which enlisted drummers Cameron Gardner (Washed Out, Gringo Star) and Philip Mayer (Kishi Bashi, David Wax Museum) to fortify the rhythm section.
