Biography
Yogeswaran Veerasingam, performing as Yogi B., launched the Malaysian hip-hop outfit Poetic Ammo once his earlier partnership with Anand under the name DEFX had ended. He brought Landslyde, Point Blanc, and C. Loco into the fold, and the crew delivered its debut album, It's a Nice Day to Be Alive, in 1998. Although the majority of the lyrics were written in English, Poetic Ammo also incorporated passages in Melayu, Tamil, and Cantonese. The World Is Yours appeared as the second album in 2000, followed by Return of the Boombox in 2003. Individual achievements among the members soon prompted separate undertakings, placing the group on hiatus while Yogi issued solo albums, Blanc established a label and a band before releasing a solo album of his own, Landslyde formed a rap-metal band, and C. Loco pursued an acting career.
