Rapper Porta first rose to underground prominence during his teenage years by circulating his tracks online through MySpace and YouTube, eventually securing a deal with Universal Music Group that led to the 2008 release of his first major-label project, En Boca de Tantos. Born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1988, he encountered hip-hop at an early age and drew particular inspiration from the American rap landscape. While still in his teens he began performing live and assembled his earliest demo recordings into the independent project No Es Cuestión de Edades, issued in 2006. During that period he also launched a MySpace presence, where he uploaded his material and quickly attracted a growing audience of young Spanish rap enthusiasts. His follow-up underground effort, No Hay Truco, arrived in 2007 and generated additional attention, further amplified by an animated clip for “Dragon Ball Rap” that surpassed five million views. Capitalizing on this established fan base, Universal Music Group signed the Barcelona native, resulting in the aforementioned debut album. Heavily pushed across MySpace and YouTube, En Boca de Tantos reached the Top Ten in Spain, with its title track serving as the lead single. Trastorno Bipolar followed in 2009 as his second Universal release, while Reset—tracked at Studio Lebuge in Barcelona—emerged in 2012. His fourth studio album, Algo Ha Cambiado, appeared in 2014, fronted by the single “La Primera Vez,” and once again charted inside the Top Ten throughout Spain as well as Latin and South America.
