Biography
Kevin McMahon stands as the sole central figure in Prick. The project's opening chapter unfolded across the 1980s, beginning with the 1988 EP Communiqué and possibly extending to another release titled Animal. McMahon's path under the Prick banner has remained sporadic and elusive, generating abundant speculation yet yielding minimal concrete information.
In 1993 the vocalist, guitarist, and prolific songwriter McMahon aligned with guitarist Chris Schleyer and drummer Andy Kubiszewski, an alumnus of Exotic Birds and Stabbing Westward. The group secured a contract with Interscope Records without issuing any recordings on that imprint. Instead, Prick landed at Nothing Records, the label formed by McMahon's longtime associate Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and John Malm Jr.
The self-titled debut album appeared in 1995 on Nothing Records, containing hard industrial metal pieces including "River Head," "No Fair Fight," and "I Got It Bad."
Thereafter McMahon withdrew from view, though accounts suggest he continued occasional live appearances under different names.
