Australian remixer and producer Josh Abrahams, performing under the name Puretone, achieved instant international recognition in dance circles through the release of "Addicted to Bass," the lead single taken from his album Stuck in a Groove. Previously a participant in Future Sound of Melbourne, the house outfit that included producer Davide Carbone and DJ Steve Robins, he struck out independently during 1995. Filmmaker Baz Lurhmann joined forces with him on the 1998 album Something for Everybody, which contained the spoken-word single hit "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)," and subsequently worked with him again as co-producer of Moulin Rouge, drawn from the successful 2001 remake of the classic movie.
