Room 5

Vito Lucente, the Belgium-rooted producer formerly active under the Junior Jack alias, unveiled Room 5 as his next electronic project. Taking cues from the club-centric approach of Daft Punk and Felix da Housecat, the effort paired airy yet persistently groovy rhythms with energetic, heartfelt vocal performances. The single “Make Luv” surfaced during summer 2003 and circulated rapidly through Ibiza venues along with numerous compilations. Drawing directly from Oliver Cheatham’s mid-’80s hit “Get Down Saturday Night,” the track’s driving momentum generated strong anticipation for Lucente’s fresh endeavor. Sustained interest carried over into the follow-up release “Music & You,” prompting Room 5 to ready its full-length album Music & You: The Album for March 2004.
