StoneBridge has functioned as a DJ, remixer, and recording artist across two decades as a constant presence in house music. Born in Stockholm as Sten Hallstrom, he started spinning funk and disco records at his own club night, Fellini, during the early 1980s. Exposure to Chicago dance records prompted a shift to house music, after which he joined several of Sweden’s leading DJs to produce remixes under the SweMix name. Growing recognition brought remix assignments for De La Soul and Titiyo, yet his production of Robin S’ “Show Me Love,” one of the biggest-selling house records of all time, cemented his reputation.

Remix work soon arrived from Robbie Williams, Will Smith, and Lenny Kravitz. He launched the Stoney Boy Music label, issued multiple compilation albums, and developed his own original tracks. Can’t Get Enough appeared in 2004 and contained the anthemic Top Ten hits “Put Em High” and “Take Me Away,” both featuring Swedish pop star Therese on vocals, as well as “Freek On,” a collaboration with Ultra Naté. The album’s performance generated residencies at The Cross in London and Family in Brisbane plus a satellite-radio show in the U.S. His second album, Music Takes Me, followed in 2007.

Remix projects over the next two years included Britney Spears, New Kids on the Block, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Ne-Yo, the last earning a Grammy nomination. He also released a Stoney Boy compilation and additional volumes of his Flavour the Vibe mix series. The artist album The Morning After arrived in 2010.
