Quant stood out as a key figure among the artists signed to Sweden's Dot imprint, putting out several neo-electro EPs on the eccentric label throughout the closing years of the 1990s, while also contributing tracks to various compilations and handling remix duties. The artist's initial output under the name Jonas Quant arrived as the Quant EP in February 1997 on Dot 1203, with the Breaking & Entering EP following on Dot 1207 later that same November. It took until May 2000 for the next installment, Tik Tok on Dot 1210, to see release. In the years separating these projects, Quant focused on remixing select recordings, notably transforming Tosca's "Chocolate Elvis," credited to Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber, along with Coldcut's "Timber."
